Emergency Medical Volunteer
-
May 2015 - Jul 2015
For a 10-week period I volunteered in the SMURD emergency department at a hospital in Târgu Mures, Romania. During my stay, I received training and performed medical procedures under the supervision of medical staff. I gained firsthand experience by assisting in a variety of procedures such as intravenous line insertion and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. I also performed EKGs, administered intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, cleaned wounds, collected blood samples for tests, helped with patient transport andadmission/discharge. Show less
