Working in a Lateral flow test centre allowed me to gain many skills. Here we would ensure that members of the public are provided with a easy experience to get themselves tested. Skills such as team work and customer service are heavily used due to being in contact with many members of the public. Whilst working here I would have to ensure people are welcomed whilst ensuring social distancing is followed. Working as a stylist in retail allowed me to develop my communication and customer service skills. Working as a stylist was quite enjoyable as it allowed me to help customers by picking out clothing tailored to their needs. Working in a retail environment has allowed me to work on my customer service skills as well as problem-solving, ensuring that customers are treated with respect and targets are made. Whilst working in retail I had also been trained to use the tills. This was a key skill during my time working as a stylist as it allowed me to so more around the store by being able to serve customers.

Working in an administration role allowed me to grow my organisation and time-management skills; by being given deadlines to book hotels and transport for the staff and managers. I was also involved in communicating with external factories and sites to plan for headquarter staff to visit sites, this helped grow my communication skills as I was able to communicate with different audiences. My technological skills have also been further developed through assisting the designing and setting up of their new website.

Tutor

Working as a tutor with young children of ages 7-11 allowed me to develop my communication and leadership skills. Working with children is a job that requires patience and perseverance, which was tested at times but taught me a lot. Working in an academic setting has grown my organisational skills as well as time-management, in learning how to plan and teach a learning plan in the given time for the class.
