As an innovation fellow, I was exposed to all aspects of an early-stage digital health startup company such as fundraising, business development, research and development, operations, recruiting/human resources, and regulatory/quality affairs. I’m also part of a life-long, global community to bring to market a universal voice test for use in primary care to refer patients to specialists faster. Designed MitraClip prototypes and mitral valve annulus plates after researching characteristics of Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation patients. Extracted mitral valves from ovine samples and sutured valves onto annulus plates. Ran in vitro experiments and took various measurements (i.e. pressure, flow rate) to determine suitability of different MitraClip treatments for Functional Mitral Regurgitation patients. Conducted steady-state experiments to model… Show more Designed MitraClip prototypes and mitral valve annulus plates after researching characteristics of Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation patients. Conducted steady-state experiments to model coagulation. Completed a Cost of Goods analysis, researched regulatory overhead, and found 9 potential vendors for the design of a pediatric dialysis machine. Catalogued ALS data from clinical studies and journal articles in a database for analysis of significant trends in physiological data of human subjects and animal models in an effort to identify clinical predictors of ALS. Extracted key quantitative data from various types of figures, tables, graphs, and verbal descriptions of experimental results.
