Bio
Merv McLeod
I have worked with Rachel Pineault for over twelve years, initially in her position of Head of Human Resources and Aboriginal Affairs at DeBeers Canada Inc., then as Vice President Human Resources and Aboriginal Affairs at Detour Gold Corporation. We worked together, albeit on opposite sides of the table during the various negotiations related to opening of the DeBeers Victor Mine near Attawapiskat and at Detour Gold’s mine at Detour Lake. Rachel always brought a sense of honesty and integrity to the negotiating table and in the development of human resource planning. This meant that we were able to arrive at a mutually beneficial agreement that was positive for the First Nation communities that McLeod Wood Associates Inc. represented and met the needs of DeBeers and Detour Gold. respectively. I have great respect for her and believe that she would be an asset to any organization.
Marcel Cameron, P. Eng.
Rachel is an excellent Human Resource executive in every sense of this challenging field. She was very instrumental in sourcing a diverse team of Mining professionals for the largest Open pit mine (Detour Gold) in Canada. She embraces diversity and change.
