The Shair lab at UPCI studies the oncogenic potential of the Epstein-Barr Virus’ latent membrane proteins LMP1 and LMP2A . My independent project focuses on the effects of LMP1on the retention of the viral episome in human epithelial cells – an effect that is closely linked to the formation of malignant tumors. In the lab, I am expanding my skills in molecular and cellular biology techniques and writing an article for publication in a scientific journal.
