In this position, I was a line chef and cashier where I learned to work quickly and effectively while maintaining a respectful level of quality. I also made sure to abide by proper sanitary standards while cleaning the store, and handling money and food. Freshii is a health-based fast-food franchise; throughout my time working here I really came to value the importance of a healthy lifestyle. In this role, I was in charge of managing the front end of the restaurant. I learned how to assertively organize the hosts and hostesses to ensure that everything ran smoothly. One of my other main tasks was running the reservation system and arranging all the groups that came in; this required adequate time management and problem solving on the spot. When working in the restaurant industry, it is imperative to be an adaptive learner in order to be successful in a fast paced environment. My responsibilities at Save-On-Foods grew quite quickly as I began managing the front end in less than 3 months from my hiring date. I learned to keep track of many different tasks simultaneously including training new cashiers, helping with produce codes, remembering all workers' breaks, tobacco sales, returns and refunds, as well as customer complaints to name a few. I was also in charge of closing the Front End of the store at the end of the night. This role allowed me to improve my problem solving skills and conflict management.
