As a science instructor for the Catalina Island Marine Institute and Sea Camp at Toyon Bay, I introduced 4th-12th grade students to coastal California marine ecology through guided snorkeling and corresponding in-class sessions, incorporating student-led exploration, presentations, and project building. This role also required me to generate curricula which met state standards while meeting the needs of our diverse student participants.
