    • Head of Department of Integrated Studies and CELTA qualified
      • Aug 2011 - Jun 2014

The Integrated Studies Programme has been created for students in Years 7 and 8 to ensure the transition from Junior school to Seniors is a smooth one. There is a huge emphasis on improving academic English and Literacy skills. The curriculum is based on the British National curriculum but combines English and Humanities. This allows students to develop their creativity, independence, self reflection and confidence in preparation for Year 9 and KS4. Similar to MYP students will build their skills and look at projects and schemes such as 'Myself ad Others', 'People and Places', Water and Society' Discrimination and Destruction'. Students also improve their PELT skills by completing projects like a school magazine, book projects or a news report. Show less
