Rev. Nancy Dominique Dessables, LMSW, ISC

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Ms. Rachel Sacks, from 2007 to 2009, at the New York City Department for Health and Mental Hygiene on the Medication Adherence Project (MAP): Tools for Improving Self-Management. Ms. Sacks hired me as one of the consultants to assist in designing a "train-the-trainer" component to train primary care physicians on enhancing their ability to engage patients in self-management. I have to say, that working with Rachel on the above project was one of the most enjoyable assignments I've had as a consultant. In our work together, Ms. Sacks was very professional and supportive of me as a consultant. She was very clear in expressing her expectations and remained readily available to answer questions and provide any necessary guidance. Ms. Sacks was also very effective in providing feedback and useful ideas to help me produce my best work as a consultant. I admire her professional demeanor, obvious intelligence and her overall awareness of key public health issues that impact current society. And I certainly would work with her again if given the opportunity.

Rachel was a brilliant graduate student at Yale in a highly competitive environment. In fact, I chose her to be a teaching assistant in a required ten-credit course that I gave. Her performance was outstanding because she was both reliable and professional.
