Whilst working with MKC I gained a valuable insight into how the water industry works and how legislation in implemented on a local, regional and national scale. My role involved using the Water Framework Directive to assist in reviewing Milton Keynes' local water resource and flooding plans and develop their new plans. I assisted on site visits to SUDS and developments to evaluate the effectiveness of flood mitigation techniques and evaluate the flood risk to property.
