Wall Quest Archaeology

  Wall Quest was a three-year project to run from 2012-15, led by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Excavation was planned in an area of the fort ditches and vicus (civilian settlement) at Arbeia. The project opened up the excavation program to participants from the local community, and I participated in a voluntary role which provided opportunities for me to work with artefacts and learn how to analyse excavation records at Arbeia roman fort in South Shields.
