  C&R Press is an independent book publisher in the greater Charlotte, NC area that specializes in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry that explores voices underrepresented by mainstream media, and relishes a love for the printed word in the age of digital. I serve as first reader and submissions manager for submitted and unsolicited manuscripts, evaluating them for publication through C&R or any of our smaller imprints. Additionally I manage and train interns to be thorough and understanding readers of the manuscripts that we receive. I've served as a reader and panel judge for our biannual chapbook contest, as well as communicated with authors regarding the digital layout of their forthcoming work(s). Though a remote position, I've traveled often to fairs or conferences where the press wishes to establish a presence through a vendor or brand ambassador, including AWP Tampa 2018 and Brooklyn Book Festival 2017 and 2018.In periods where we've lacked intern support, I have served as stand-in social media administrator for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.   As editor for my college's annual creative arts publication, I aided the Editor-in-Chief in making executive decisions about the layout, printing, and design of our final print edition. I was also responsible for on-campus marketing of submissions, weekly poetry nights, special events, and the release of the final publication. I oversaw the online submissions process, collaborated with a student review panel to determine the best work, then met with students to improve their submissions through editing once their work had been chosen. My own work in poetry was selected anonymously by the student review panel for publication two years running. I co-hosted a weekly poetry night of 10-30 students, which became one of the most attended campus clubs of the 2015-2016 academic year. Show less
