Throughout the three days, I mentored a group of Year 4 children in activity sessions designed to engage and intellectually stimulate. From subjects such as drama, geography, ecology and sports, I gained a deeper understanding of the teaching career as well as an insight into working with children. A fun and rewarding experience, I helped children step out of their comfort zones, gain confidence and connect with new people. Vice-President of National Virtual Medical Society
-
Sep 2022 - Mar 2023
During my time as VMS VP, I collaborated and led a team of aspiring medics in running a national level medical society. Whilst presenting to an audience of up to 1000 members on a weekly basis, I broadened my knowledge of a career in medicine, whilst honing my presentation skills. In a collaboration with the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, we were able to raise upwards of £450 with a ‘Hospital Hop’ initiative. In particular, the President and I were able to foster a positive working environment, promoting the health and well-being of our peers, with committee members commenting on how enjoyable they found the experience.
