Applied Ecology Ltd (AEL) is an independent ecological consultancy working on behalf of a large range of clients, including commercial and residential developers, planning consultants, planning authorities, architects, environmental consultancies, utility companies and individuals. We established an office in Scotland in 2012, from which we offer most ecological services. I have a wide range of ecological interests, from landscape ecology to botanical survey, but specialise in Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) and restoration ecology. I am a full member of CIEEM, and was proud to be amongst the first Chartered Ecologists in the UK. I am also a Chartered Environmentalist. Show less

The research looked at calcareous and mesotrophic grasslands' resistance and resilience to disturbance. Papers from this thesis were subsequently published in the Journal of Applied Ecology and the Journal of Environmental Management.
