I worked with Rachel during her co-op term at Velocity in 2018, where she was responsible for coordinating both communications and events tasks. Rachel stood out in terms of community engagement on social media. In particular, she helped transformed Velocity's social media through collaboratively executing a campaign to drive awareness and interest of the organization's flagship event. Rachel would often take initiatives, would help out when needed, and was willing to test out new ideas. I considered her an asset to the marketing and programs team.

Rachel embraced her role and a unique situation reporting to two different people. She helped transform our social media engagement, offered innovative solutions ranging from introducing an editorial calendar to the team and taking the lead on weekly events held in the Garage. Rachel has a strong willingness to help not just the team at Velocity, but all of our startups (over 70 of them) whenever needed. Rachel demonstrated a strong work ethic and embraced the distinct chaos that comes with working with startups and excelled.
