I have had the absolute pleasure and been so lucky to work closely with Rachel. I was a new starter at Babylon and diving into the NHS as an ANP after previous experience in corporate when I virtually met her. She came up with a voluntary Buddy system initiative during the start of COVID-19. This system has been invaluable - from checking in day to day, banter and to running things past a trusted and in the know colleague. Rachel has >15yrs knowledge as an ANP at ground level with patients and at senior level at Head Office. She is a fountain of knowledge. Naturally, there have been appraisals, audits and complaints/compliments along the way in my work, each of which have been managed professionally, sensitively, with further information and education to digest. Rachel’s feedback in her role at Head Office (and not casually as a work Buddy!) is both refreshing and encouraging, and always non-judgemental. She manages in a gentle and refreshing way to inspire and motivate. Her Buddy system was ingenious and one that I can’t think about working day to day life without.
