I was in charge of a group of 5 volunteers at various different homework clubs, and I was their main mentor throughout the programme. Any problems that the volunteers had I dealt with appropriately and ensured that they were also gaining valuable skills by helping out at the clubs. It was an incredibly rewarding role to see how much the students progressed and also how much they appeared to enjoy their time at the clubs. Show less

I regularly exceeded targets set by my team and I was also the top performing UK based fundraiser twice during my time at the company. I am a truly caring and passionate individual, who genuinely believed the cause I was raising awareness about, which evidently translated to the people who I was stopping and speaking to. During my time at the company I secured over 150 long term donations for Save the Children, who have pledged to donate for at least a year. This experience boosted my confidence dramatically, as approaching strangers on the street is no easy task! Show less

I taught basic English and Maths to classes of around 30 children, and we learnt through the medium of dance and play due to the language barrier. Whilst all the children spoke Xhosa, they did understand some elements of English and I was therefore able to teach them basic sanitation skills. Many of the children were from broken families or orphanages so I was there as support, helping them with any problems they had, even if it was just wanting someone to listen to what they had to say. This experience was truly rewarding and encouraged me to pursue the career that I currently am. Show less
