I participated in Audigy University, a 3-month training program that teaches recent graduates the ins and outs of owning your own practice. The program primarily focused on five areas: effective patient care, leadership and teamwork, business operations, technology, and professionalism. I also visited several practices to learn how they make private practice successful. Audiology Doctoral Intern

I completed my 4th year audiology doctoral externship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I completed four rotations in pediatrics, cochlear implants, vestibular, and hearing aids while continuously working on adult diagnostics, research, and newborn hearing screenings. I worked closely with other audiologists, ENTs, neurologists, psychiatrists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and educational audiologists. I was the Student Clinic Manager, a position where I maintained the clinic’s supplies’ inventory and ordering, kept software up to date, maintained general organization of the clinic, coordinated guest speakers, and taught undergraduate introduction to audiology mini-courses. I also assisted in research, teaching, and front office duties at NIU’s School of AHCD through my graduate assistantship. I studied under a master craftsman for a year & a half learning custom level cabinetry construction & finishing. I worked primarily with oak and cherry woods & finished with ammonia fumigation & clear coat finishes. In the home construction process, I also painted cabinetry and walls using faux finishing & aged techniques. I waited tables for eight years through high school & college. In 2002, I won Best Sales Award. At Pearl's Lakeside I was one of the head servers who mentored new servers and was chosen to manage servers' sales at the end of the shifts. At Boulevard Steakhouse, Oklahoma's premier steakhouse, I was one of the head servers who mentored new servers. I waited tables for eight years through high school & college.
