Racheal is a fantastic addition to the team always putting student well-being at the forefront of what she does , she is always empathetic and able to have difficult conversations with students both around careers and their barriers including mental health , she is always hot on safeguarding and able to signpost students to additional services where needed. Racheal is well loved by the students and forms good relationships with them making them feel comfortable and never judged providing them with a safe space where needed

As part of my journey at Coventry University in London, Racheal coached me to get into the work place. Thanks to her guidance during our sessions I developed an effective way to approach the market and could secure an amazing opportunity as a consultant in Technology through LinkedIn! Racheal’s tips are tested and approved. I fell so lucky to have her as a coach !

The Employment and Navigation Services are run by SMART and are part of Community Living Well. The services are available to over 16s registered with a GP in Kensington and Chelsea, or Queens Park and Paddington areas, in primary care, who need mental health support. Community Living Well is a collaborative service between NHS and voluntary sector partners. The service adopts a holistic approach supporting clients offering information , advice and guidance (IAG) to assist them to access opportunities in employment , training and education as well as supporting them to gain further experience through volunteering where appropriate for that individual . CLW/SMART adopt the IPS light principles supporting clients to access competitive employment in a timely manner whilst working closely with other professionals involved in that individuals care . • User Employment Programme (UEP) Placement Co-Ordinator
      • Apr 2017 - Nov 2019

The User Employment Programme (UEP) is a programme set up to provide service users an opportunity to gain work experience , increase their confidence , build on / gain new skills and obtain a current work reference . I supported clients who may have had an interest in working within the NHS or local authorities to find a work placement to support with their employment goal . I gathered information on the type of role my clients would like , the experience they would like to gain , how far they are happy to travel etc . I then worked on sourcing a placement this can be with existing placement hosts or new managers . I went on to meet with that employer to discuss the support available to both my client and themselves . Throughout the placement the client is offered ongoing employment support and we met with the placement manager monthly to check in and update . In addition my role involved overseeing the HR processes around setting up a placement included organising ID checks, producing an honorary contract , DBS checks ( if required for the role ) and reference requests. Although the placements were unpaid the clients can often be reimbursed for travel and we ensured they were not financially worse off by engaging with the UEP . Often clients were offered opportunities off the back of their placement or they reported the experience from their placement gave them the confidence to find paid work . My role was to offer tailored employment support to that individual from start to finish employing the Individual Placement and Support ( IPS) model .
