Tracy Grant

As a natural communicator, Rachael has used her expertise in all areas to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all of her colleagues and students and facilitate them in achieving to their full potential. She is a self-starter and works on initiative, having shown on many occasions that Rachael can see a project through to a successful conclusion. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with such a consummate professional and can't recommend her highly enough.

Having struggled to find appropriate textbooks for my students on arrival in Australia I set about finding a publisher and writing my own! The end result were two workbooks covering both Woods and Metals for year 7 & 8 students. I was employed on a permanent contract to teach years 6 – 12 in the subject areas of Food, Woods and Metals. I have also taught classes in Health and Life Skills and I am accredited to deliver the Keys for Life Programme. I enjoyed this role but felt my experience and skills in the classroom were being under-utilised and when I was made redundant, as Metalwork was cut from the curriculum I decided to move into the field of Educational Consultancy. I was employed on a permanent contract to teach students from years 7 – 12 in the woodwork and metalwork area of Design and Technology. I was the sole teacher of this subject and responsible for all programs within this subject. I am confident in all areas of the workshop and pride myself on ensuring safe working practices at all times. In 2016 I stepped up and became Head of House, a pastoral, leadership role, for two terms and worked hard to maintain the high expectations and ethos throughout the school, as well as supporting students through some difficult issues.
