As an event specialist for John Serock Catering I am responsible for booking both corporate and social events. This requires me to create proposals and menus that fit each individual client's needs. I will work with our clients closely on all details of the event including timeline, floor plan, rentals, and coordination needed with other vendors involved to ensure a smooth-running event. In addition, I act as the day of coordinator for all events that I book as well as many other events that my colleagues have booked. It is my responsibility to ensure that the entire event runs according to the plan that we have put in place. This requires me to manage both our kitchen and service staff, touch base with all vendors, and communicate with the client throughout the evening. My job requires flexibility, creative thinking, attention to detail, and stamina. In addition to my event planning role, I also handle other administrative duties, which benefit from my organizational skills.

As a server, it was my responsibility to ensure that each guest had a positive and memorable experience. This position required me to multi-task and communicate effectively with team members in order to provide the most enjoyable experience to guests. There was never time to stand around. If I was not attending to my own tables, I was assisting other servers and the restaurant by running food, restocking, or cleaning. • Banquet Server
      • May 2014 - Aug 2014

Each shift I was responsible for preparing the area for the event to be held. This required setting tables, creating food displays, and prepping for the evening ahead by polishing, stocking, and organizing. We used the banquet event orders to understand the needs of the event. During service it was my responsibility to oversee the needs of a specific section of tables. I had to communicate effectively with the back-server and move efficiently in order to provide the best level of service to the guests. Afterwards, we had to clean up the event and set the room according to the manager's request.

This was a job I took for the summer where I worked under the Human Resources Manager to complete a variety of tasks. I entered specific tracking numbers into a Microsoft Access database daily. I also assisted in their move to a new office. This required me to sort, file, and store paperwork among other tasks. I was apart of the opening of this restaurant. I started out bussing and hosting, then later trained to become a server. This is where I discovered my love for a fast-paced and customer-focused industry. I was apart of the opening of this restaurant.
