Macquarie Pacific Funding Ltd (MPFL) was the result of the acquisition of Pacific Funding Pty Ltd by Macquarie Premium Funding (a joint venture with Steadfast Group Ltd) in 2013. As one of the co-founders of Macquarie Premium Funding, I was brought in to turn around the declining business after a problematic initial integration period. Responsibilities: ✦ Develop and lead business strategy to rebuild the brand, reduce costs, drive sales growth and to meet the additional challenges provided by the soft premium cycle. ✦ Full P&L responsibility for the stand-alone organisation, reporting into a shareholder board. ✦ Create a strong and collaborative management team to provide robust leadership and rebuild the sales and operational teams to realise the new strategic goals. ✦ Re-establish relationships with broking customers, listen to feedback, identify issues, and re-establish trust in the brand, the products and customer service. ✦ Re-establish confidence in MPFL in the marketplace, maintaining a visible presence with attendance at industry events and conferences and acting as the lead spokesperson for the media. ✦ Drive product innovation and enhanced value propositions to ensure that the company offering continues to meet customer needs. ✦ Deliver robust governance and regulatory compliance, maintaining an effective and commercial risk management framework at a business, portfolio and transactional level. Achievements: ✦ Successfully transformed the business with a strategic and operational plan, reversing the decline in sales, improving the cost structure and re-establishling the company’s authority in the marketplace with a Net Promoter Score of 69 in October 2018. ✦ Improved efficiencies with a streamlined and higher skilled workforce and substantially improved people engagement from 45% in 2016 to 70% in 2018 (AON Hewitt survey). ✦ Successfully launched new product and service enhancements, including a re-designed and updated delivery platform, Edge.

    • National Segment Head, Insurance Services
      • Jul 2010 - Jan 2015

In my role as National Segment Head for Insurance Services, I was responsible for the strategy, relationships and day-to-day operations of this targeted sector of Macquarie Business Bank, which offers bespoke services and products to assist brokers with their financial and banking needs.Responsibilities:✦ Provide strategic leadership with responsibility for the segment’s sales growth and profitability.✦ Lead national sales strategy, structuring and engineering deals and managing the performance of state sales teams to meet budget targets. ✦ Build and maintain valuable relationships with key clients and accounts to monitor performance and identify opportunities to add value with tailored solutions.✦ Lead product and services innovation and enhancements across the Insurances Services portfolio, including business and cash flow lending, property lending, transactional banking, asset and equipment finance. ✦ Contribute to the transaction process for the acquisition of Pacific Funding Pty Ltd to integrate with Macquarie Premium Funding Pty Ltd. ✦ Responsible for all risk management and governance for Macquarie Insurance Services. Achievements:✦ Contributed to market innovation with a DEFT system (Macquarie Premium Payments), which was created in response to user feedback and provided an automated deposit system for immediate reconciliations, dramatically reducing the staff and time required to manage payment collections.✦ Promoted a new cash flow lending product, Macquarie Premium Payments, which attributed value to business income rather than just assets. This opened up enormous potential for brokers to expand their operations via acquisition with a strong consolidation trend emerging across the insurance broking industry. ✦Played a substantial role in the successful Steadfast Group IPO in 2013, arranging the corporate line of debt and restructuring banking requirements of Steadfast member firms to support the IPO process.
