Summer Internship
-
Jun 2013 - Sep 2013
I interned with GSOSW under the Girls Behind Bars program. We were in charge of about 25 girls from the ages of 6-17. All these girls had one thing in common, their mom was incarcerated at Coffee Creek Corrections Facility. Every second and fourth Saturday of the month we would go take these girls to Coffee Creek to either do an art project, watch a movie, or interact with their mothers in some form. On the fourth Saturday of the month, after we took them to Coffee Creek, we would go back to the Girl Scouts head quarters and have a troop meeting. In this internship I was in charge of one Saturday troop meeting, having to teach the girls how to make sit-upons. I was also in charge of making poster boards for my mentors meetings that artistically showed how Girls Beyond Bars is a program that is positively impacting these girls. Show less

Worked in a face paced environment having to multitask with taking customers orders and then prepare the drinks. Worked well in a team setting while under pressure. Was in charge of opening the stand, had to prep the stand for the day. Built relationships with the customers. Internship
-
Jun 2006 - Sep 2006
I interned with Dr. Rodemacher in his dental office because I was curious about becoming a dental hygienist and was currently studying hygiene at CAL (The Center for Advanced Learning.) I daily tasks were to come in around 7:30am and check phone messages, alter the staff of any cancels, and/or reschedules, as well as any important message that were left. I would clean the dental room before and after each patient, sanitize the interments, and prep for the next patient. I was able to practice taking and developing X-rays. Show less
