Evaluated two sets of rowhomes located in provinces outside Manila to determine retrofitting options. Prepared different retrofitting packages that the homeowner could choose from depending on how they wanted to improve their homes. Performed all necessary calculations and BOQ's for each option. Took careful note to design and structure the retrofits around the maximum loan amounts the families were likely to get from MFIs (including proposing each retrofit be done in stages, then prioritizing different works). Additionally, a study on the effects of plaster on the out of plane bending of a wall was done. The goal of this study was to prove that plastering walls with a certain thickness would increase the capacity of the wall to resist out of plane bending in order to relax the maximum wall spacing criteria. This helped to decrease the number of columns required to be put in homes. Show less

Performed various soil sample tests including, but not limited to, undrained and unconfined shear strength, sieve analyses, Atterburg Limits, water content determination, LA abrasion tests, infiltration tests and core run samples. In addition to soil, concrete compression strength tests were also performed for various jobs around the area. For all tests, data was complied, and reports were prepared for clients.
