Working as part of the Stoller Biomarker Centre aiming to identify and validate protein biomarkers for clinical use in a variety of diseases including cancer, dementia, immune conditions and chronic kidney disease. I am currently being trained in a variety of microtitre plate assays (eg:ELISA, Multiplex, Singulex) and mass spectrometry. I am testing the immunogenicity of the MenB and tetravalent ACYW meningitis vaccines in young children and adolescents as part of clinical trials for public health england, adhering to GCP and clinical trial procedures, by using serum bactericidal assay and other immunoassays eg: ELISA. I also use SOPs and can adhere to rigorous health and safety and quality guidelines to ensure high quality results are being achieved. I am currently being trained in a wide range of techniques including pipette skills, data analysis and quality checking, immunoassay protocol, equipment qualification and calibration, disinfection policies and working in a cat 1 microbiological hood. Also recently completed a training day in the meningococcal reference unit learning about the molecular serotyping of meningococcal bacteria and the epidemiological studies of the disease. Show less
