Served as a 2-year captain on the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team, the first non-senior captain in 6 years. As a member of the team I fostered a community of mutual respect between players and the coaching staff, and I created a structure of self-governance, enabling the team to assume a greater degree of personal accountability. My commitment to the team has enhanced my time management skills because I have had to balance 25+ hours of weekly soccer engagements with a rigorous academic schedule.… Show more Served as a 2-year captain on the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team, the first non-senior captain in 6 years. Supported a project team that was responsible for a complex IT transformation, which encompassed 2 simultaneous platform changes. I aided the transformation by strategizing with the team on how to most effectively and efficiently communicate the case for change. We decided that one aspect of communicating the case for change would be videos, which I created, to demonstrate IT system functionality and enhance buy-in and adoption for the change. Because the IT transformation was incredibly… Show more Supported a project team that was responsible for a complex IT transformation, which encompassed 2 simultaneous platform changes. I aided the transformation by strategizing with the team on how to most effectively and efficiently communicate the case for change. We decided that one aspect of communicating the case for change would be videos, which I created, to demonstrate IT system functionality and enhance buy-in and adoption for the change. Because the IT transformation was incredibly complex, it required multiple stages. I developed readiness assessments to measure the organization’s desire and ability to accept more change at each stage. After analyzing the data and reporting it back to the team, I better positioned our team to make the best decision regarding next steps to ensure adoption of the change. Reconstructed marketing content for a new website launch in the development phase, and I used my analytical and Excel skills to develop a detailed 6-month budget analysis for senior leadership. During my work, I realized the potential to increase their audience for their marketing content, so I introduced a social media marketing strategy and an in-depth execution plan. The plan was built to show how the team could capitalize on a specific and important target audience. While interning at Kotter, there was a desire to create a system in which individuals who were seeking to strengthen certain skills could reach out to others who felt confident in their ability in those skills and could provide guidance. I developed an apprenticeship model utilizing survey results to match those seeking specific skill development with those who were willing and able to mentor. I assisted therapists treating patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Through my experiences, I developed “people skills” for how to moderate reactions and responses to patients, effectively communicate and empathize with others, and build trusting and respectful relationships. I also participated in canine therapy, controlling and training dogs in order to facilitate recreational therapy with patients.
