I had the opportunity to have been taught by Dr. Rabbi R. Karpov during my undergraduate English Composition I course. She taught with a passion and created an environment where students and myself can express our own unique creative writing style. She was an excellent and well-driven professor with the background to prove it!

William (Bill) Holt

Rabbi Karpov is indeed a professional jewel. The result of her creativity on my "bespoke resume" is the best I've ever experienced. Her focused effort and collaboration produced a document that is succinct, beautifully organized, interesting, and easy to read and understand. I highly recommend her. I also want to recognize her straight forward honesty and dedication to her work and her clients. We stayed focused; in short order, the job was done. Awesome!

Lauren Potthoff MHRM, SHRM-CP

Working with Rabbi through Bespoke Resumes has been a very rewarding experience. Rabbi is extremely organized, refreshingly honest and has a knack for collaboration. Rabbi is intelligent and was able to pick up on patterns of professional talents I didn't realize I had. While working with Rabbi, I received an incredible amount of offers to interview. A majority of the positions were higher paying and geared for sales people with 8-10 years of industry-specific sales experience (I have nearly 2 years of telecom experience). I had a few recruiters comment on how impressed they were with my resume, something I had never heard before. I am pleased to say I accepted a job offer only a month after Rabbi finished working on my resume. If you are considering on working with Rabbi, do. It will be the best 'professional' investment you'll ever make. Thank you so much, Rabbi!

In support of massive Training and Development initiative: • Wrote entire Training Manual Library, using ADDIE Model, for JIT (Just In Time), an enterprise-wide MRP II (Material Requirement Planning) system using Relational Oracle Database, supporting factory-wide functional disciplines. • Reported directly to comprehensive Lockheed Martin Project Manager, who reported directly to President. • Scheduled entire project completion on Excel; interfaced with users. Quality Assurance. MS Word, Screen Capture. One of the happiest work-experiences of my life. After I'd boiled-down what information simply could not be ferreted out, I wrote it up on half a page, put it in a file-folder, and fired myself as no more work needed to be done. My boss said, "Call in every six months or so," and I did -- I would have loved to have done more of the same -- but after three years, the training-manual library I had developed was still so painstakingly accurate that they didn't need me or anyone because THEY WERE STILL USING IT. The synagogue of Hitlers' refugees in upstate New York. I kept that pulpit a good four years. We celebrated Bnei/Bnot Mitzvah (Bar/Bat Mitzvahs) for normal young people; plus innovated a series of Down's Syndrome Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, together with Pastor Lyle Lindner, from the nearby Pathfinder Village. I'd figured out that if these Down's Syndrome adults had learned to make their beds every day; dress and undress themselves; and perform the jobs they had at Pathfinder Village; as well has learned all the verses to "Bringing in the Sheaves" (which for many years I'd misheard as "Bringing in the Sheep) and other things -- they could learn to undress and dress the Torah; each write their own short speech having something to do with assuming moral responsibility (the one couldn't speak, so he made the ASL "I Love You" sign across the entire audience -- I still have a pin with that hand-symbol), and follow a simplified half-hour version of the service from the old HUC Union Prayerbook, including bowing and bending at the right points. Four-handkerchief Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, for parents, relatives, and townies who'd assumed they'd never get THAT joy from THESE adult children. Newspaper coverage. Ice cream and cake. A real highlight of pleasure. I'd do it again, for other such adult children, other places, in a heartbeat. Show less

(Catholic chaplain termed our on-campus presence should students need to talk, "loitering with intent".) ✔ Initiated and developed Hillel Jewish Student Organization on self-described "Ivy League campus"; coordinated world-famous kick-off speaker's week-long Scholar-In-Residence activities including guest appearances in variety of classes, and well-attended beginning and end of week keynote and final speeches with lively audience discussions. ✔ Served on committee for "Diversity Week," acknowledged by head chaplain as "mostly a celebration of our own 'liberalism,' since very few members of minorities about whom to be diverse." In that context, increased awareness of Native American Indian concerns including those inherent in university's own history and Seal, during 1991's legal challenge to Native American Church rights. ✔ Served on Seal Committee, helping to articulate inherent ironies in proposed changes to disinclude / include Native American figure already on it, and likely outcome about twenty years hence. On MIS (Management Information Systems) team, documented Tandem Computer COBOL-language program, using ADDIE Model, including Update / Access / Delete functions. I was happy to be East, after the SoCal Defense Industry bottomed-out with the end of the Cold War. Although gambling was generally frowned-upon, by Jewish culture AND by my Navajo relatives AND by my father the mathematician who taught me about percent-chances AND my Muslim co-worker (who said I seemed like one of a few people around there who cared about other people, and we had some good conversations), I was happy to have a Technical Writing job; and the food was awesome, especially from the Captain's Table, and if you worked straight through 'round the clock past 5:00 a.m., they'd customize you a memorably wonderful breakfast. Gambling also had little place in the lives of all of us in MIS -- they wrote the programs, I documented them -- who knew what the odds were, so we never went on the floor (why would we). So that was twice my Muslim co-worker and I wouldn't have set foot down there. The Defense Industry had just fallen-apart in Southern California, so this was the job I found, and off I went. I outlasted the other two contractors; got paid, so had the dignity of selling-off, not walking-out-of, my condo, and fully paying-off all my other bills. Not everyone did, that year or two; and maybe nobody much blamed them; but for me it was a non-negotiable. Show less

Invited to teach traditional Cantillation (leining, with traditional trop) courses at University of Judaism. Driving up each week to teach at the William and Freda Fingerhut Educational Building that my mother's cousins Willie and Fradl put up, made this additionally sweet for me. Invited to teach Torah Cantillation course, and did so with original and individualized audiovisual texts; culminated in perfect synagogue performances by students. Next, invited to teach Haftarah Cantillation course, and did so with original and individualized audiovisual texts; culminated in perfect synagogue performances by students including 1 cantor. Subsequently, was invited to teach Esther-Trope course and Lamentations-Trope course, but declined to do so because of strong possibility that on the heels of prior 2 courses, students would confuse trope-tunes and might end up using the wrong one for the wrong text on the wrong occasion. When I teach this, it's got to be accurate, and I wanted to guard the process's sanctity. Have developed courses for: High Holidays Cantillation, Esther Cantillation, Eichoh (Lamentations) Cantillation, and so forth. Show less

Used Sourcing skills to cold-call businesses. The HR people mostly said: "Lady, we can't hire ANYBODY until we hire back the five hundred people we just laid-off." In 1976, Milwaukee was 10th largest US city; in 1983, it was 17th. Allis-Chalmers pulled out. So did Massey Ferguson. Smokestack industries disappeared. The soup-kitchen line spilled over into the third block, and that line included Izod The Alligator shirt type person looking absolutely freaked-out (this sort of thing was only supposed to happen in a Steinbeck novel). People praying "Give us this day our daily bread" during what should have been normal work hours, that was largely not a metaphor for something else. The employment agency itself went under. So did the upstart one trying to compete with it. I am grateful for what I learned. Show less

Assembler (BAL) Programmer for DoD subcontractor. Good platform for Engineering Technical Writer and Careers Industry functions including being in the forefront of ATS-friendly resume strategy. When the three quarter page article on the front of Milwaukee Living section in the Milwaukee Sentinel showcased my abilities in fourteen human languages, some people thought that would translate into my being able to write code. Companies were pulling people out of linguistics and music and making programmers of them; so off I went. The parity-error check program I wrote refused to even make the machine the least bit sick. The fact that I had hard-coded everything didn't help, either. Oh well; good try, and I ended up an Engineering Technical Writer, Systems Technical Writer, and Software Technical Writer; all of which now informs my writing an IT Resume or an Engineering Resume, and I'm enjoying the SAP / ERP ones. Today, I remain in the forefront of specially optimizing resumes to make it past the Applicant Tracking System gatekeepers and in front of the Hiring Managers. It's all good. Show less
