As Avionics Architecture Team Deputy Lead for the Future Airborne Capabilities Environment (FACE) and Functional Architectures for Strategic Reuse (FASTR) and the Hardware Open Systems Technologies (HOST), responsible for the management of Avionics Architecture Team (AAT) program resources and risks to optimize cost, schedule, and performance objectives Manage a diverse team of over sixty people from government, academia and contractor support.Analyze overarching Program acquisition strategy of objectives and operational requirements to identify and plan for common and open avionics architecture implementations. Provide avionics open architecture planning and execution support for open architecture requirements and implementation on NAVAIR Commander’s programs. Provide avionics open architecture subject matter expertise (SME) support and open architecture input to other program offices, other services, partner nations and OA initiatives to ensure team products are adequately represented and engineering efforts are aligned. Provide source selection support to programs inquiring for SME expertise to incorporate avionics architecture requirements into their contracts. Ensure that avionics architecture support is available for acquisition milestones required to achieve program goals and objectives. Serve as a Steering Committee Board representative for Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) efforts. As the Deputy Lead of the Avionics Capability Management group managed a team consisting of two government engineers and six contract support engineers and analysts. Provided for the programmatic and technical processes and standards in support of the Navy’s efforts to define and manage the computing hardware and functional product line architectures for mission systems. Managed HOST and FASTR project resources to support NAVAIR initiatives through the management of risk, optimizing cost, schedule, and performance. Was the liaison for the Integrated Warfighting Center (IWC), platform program offices and other services to ensure mission based computing hardware and capabilities were adequately represented and engineering efforts were aligned. Developed methodology for integrating feedback from and/or aligning HOST and FASTR products with other services, partner nations and industry hardware and capability based functional architectures (i.e. Standards Bodies, Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), Industry Days, etc.). Interfaced with FACE Deputy Lead and the Avionics Architecture Team Lead on recommended updates to align business cases, ecosystem and technical documentation. Show less
