Students learned science objectives for half of a class period, and social studies for the other half. Taught small groups in a Level Literacy course to improve fluency and reading comprehension. Led an advisory of thirty boys through team building, group reflection, and parent communication.Partnered with the Lincoln Park Zoo through the Young Researchers Collaborative, and students conducted and presented authentic research on zoo and neighborhood animals.6th grade Science- Taught 6th grade Science with curriculum aligned to the Common Core and NWEA MAP assessment. - Set a KIPP Chicago regional record for 6th Science and was one of the top performers in the KIPP national network for growth as measured by the NWEA MAP assessment. - Approximately 70% of students grew more than a full year on the assessment, and 50% of students grew more than a year and a half (Typical Spring-Spring growth was 4 points, and students grew an average of 8 points).6th grade Mathematics- Taught 6th grade Math as a founding team member with curriculum aligned to the Common Core, the NWEA MAP assessment, and Pre-Algebra preparedness.
