As a member of Exploration Production Inc. I was responsible for researching various, and sometimes obscure, subjects to find the best and most relevant stock/found-footage for all EPI productions. I excelled at negotiating the purchase of outside footage from a vast array of providers from all around the world. Working closely with our series producers to keep them updated on stock availability and process. I was a key member of our teams creation of UHD work-flow framework to be used in all future UHD product. From purchase of equipment to laying out all the logistical steps needed to bring us to edit. As a part of post-production process I had a hand in everything from storing all our footage onto cloud storage or working hard drives all the way into prepping our wrap binder files and forms to ensure production delivery met all deadlines. As part of Daily Planet’s daily production team I produced several daily and weekly segments. I led the creation of these segments from the pitch room to the studio floor This involved unearthing the best and most amazing footage from the internet from that day. Obtaining permission to use that footage in broadcast for that evening. And finally creating a informative spin to match our shows mission statement, by working with our show's hosts or creating exciting copy.Over and above that it was my duty to support our team of field producers in their search for imagery to complete their narrative visions. Reviewed all incoming content shot by our field teams to create a stock library for potential reuse. Saved and logged all completed segments into our internal cloud system for to maintain easy access and usability. I produced a weekly segment called "Top Ten" which involved finding 10 viral videos that would fit a particular theme. This involved negotiating and obtaining permission to use those videos, writing a informative script to present them, and working with out editors and studio team to get them ready for air. As part of my College Journalism-Broadcast course I was part of a weekly news show put together by the students. Filling the roles of Editor and Assignment Editor I both cut all the video for our news pieces on our AVID system and ran our playback machine during broadcast, as well as delegated writing assignments to our writers and reviewed their copy before broadcast.
