Paris , France Freelance Academy offers a free training on freelancing to JS developers. The basic idea is to give them all the tools they will need to get started as independents. In France, freelancers tend to have the same lifestyle as employees with less work. What I mean is that you have to work less days in a year to earn the same amount of money an employee with the same resume does and thus enjoy the same lifestyle. Paris , France I originally created L.systems to deliver easy virtualized desktops to small companies. The product was a failure for a lot of reasons I won't get through here but would be glad to cover with you around a drink if the occasion presents itself. My associate and me then decided to change our business completely and we started to sell our dev skills. It worked pretty well and we took time to specialize a lot in Node.js and AngularJS. We are also currently working hard to be great with Elasticsearch. Right now, I'm currently looking for freelance jobs through L.systems. Show less

A very interesting MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform dedicated to training company employees and partners on crucial intern subjects. One of the very important feature of the platform is that it is dedicated to a client. Meaning we had to develop tools and procedures to adapt the platform for each of them. Keeping the variations in the codebase minimal and the differences easy to maintain was a big challenge in a lot of ways. I also took the hard responsibility of quality checker after a few weeks there. I helped improve the good practices (code formatting but also which libs to use and how) of the group and checked the overall code quality of every piece of code produced during my time there. Coorpacademy has a very interesting project and I was glad to work in a dedicated and well managed team. Everything was not perfect and we had our difficulties to get through with but I believe we did good together and hope I will have the opportunity to work with them again later on. Show less

Boulogne-Billancourt , France Working on the next gen stack in Node.js for eTF1. eTF1 data was primarily stored in an historic CRM written in PHP4 that noone really wanted to maintain and upgrade anymore. In this context, I worked on a complete rewrite in Node.js. The basic idea was to provide a single powerwul API to handle all the data of the group. Security and very quick response times were obvious primary concerns. Another one was to provide a strong enough design to handle actual & future needs. Security and very quick response times were obvious primary concerns. Another one was to provide a strong enough design to handle actual & future needs. I had the chance to work with a very dedicated and purposeful team. The sad point is that eTF1 is a very political entity in which technical desicions are not always taken by the know how people but by the hierachy. I really hope they will be able to overcome this and see the project through because a lot of very dedicated people put their heart to get this done. Show less
