Current master's student working on the DOE funded INGENIOUS project. My research focuses on determining regions of structural favorability for 'blind' or 'hidden' geothermal systems through the use of geologic mapping, geophysics, geochemical analyses, and conceptual modeling to discover new and viable geothermal resources in the Great Basin.Area of study: Buffalo Valley, north-central Nevada

Played a crucial role in translating complex scientific concepts into visually engaging and accessible materials, bridging the gap between our researchers and the community, by conveying their research findings, discoveries, and advancements through compelling graphics, illustrations, and photography. Creative skills in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign were employed to contribute to increasing public awareness, fostering scientific literacy, and enhancing DRI's reputation as a leader in environmental research through the distribution of multimedia content. Aided in establishing sustainable development through Nevada's geothermal resources by- 1) Resource and Geologic Characterization on: a. Active Development Projects - Management of resource testing design, implementation, and evaluation. - Monitored resource behavior and evaluated reservoir performance. - Execution and management of wellfield campaigns (ie. PTS surveys, caliper surveys, resistivity surveys, wireline logging, cap tubing install/removal, acid stimulation, & ‘fishing’ jobs). - Aided in coordination and management of drilling operations (i.e., TG holes) while also acting as on-site geologist between contractors and upper management for all related duties (e.g., drill staging, conductor setting, mud logging, surveys, & shift change). b. Prospective Developments - Execute field reconnaissance and site investigations/assessments of new geothermal prospects and potential holdings. - Synthesis of all available legacy data to determine ‘next step’ data collection campaigns. c. Future Acquisitions - Carry out in-field/desktop evaluations of prospects to help identify potential projects for further evaluation/analysis. 2) Permit Compliance: a. Groundwater and production/injection sampling compliance support for state and federal entities. b. Reporting/interpretation of geochemistry results for internal/external uses. 3) Data Management: a. Data mined historical and on-site geologic data to determine relationships between information in a regional context to draft reports, models, and presentations for resource development/management. b. Organized and executed power plant/wellfield operational data collection, synthesis and analysis for power production modeling. Show less

Undergraduate Research Fellow
-
Mar 2019 - May 2020
Awarded a grant through the Nevada Undergraduate Research Award to actively pursue research pertaining to the rheology of ductile shear zones in the Western Metamorphic Belt (Eastern Sierra Nevada). Research employed the use of field study, optical/microstructural thin section analysis, and electron backscatter diffusion (EBSD) techniques to characterize deformation patterns to constrain a thermal and rheological evolution of a deforming upper crust during active magmatism:• Field study included unit classification, orientation measurements and sample collection.• Optical/Microstructural analysis consisted of mineralogical identification and microstructure categorizing.• EBSD used to determine crystal lattice orientations and grain size distribution.Collaborated and coordinated with department faculty alongside graduate students to produce conference poster and abstract publications for various outlets that expand on the conversation of magmatic evolution of pluton emplacement in the upper crust. Operated and monitored HR-ICP-MS U/Pb zircon age collection on various pluton samples from the Gangdese Batholith (southern Tibet), resulting in a publication and presentation at numerous conferences expanding on the conversation of how magmatism and tectonism interact with surface processes in a long-lived magmatic orogen.
