Our History Quad County Urban League was founded in 1975 by a diverse group of local leaders responding to the absence of a community based organization to address the needs for academic achievement, job placement and training, equal access to employment, housing and cultural enrichment for low-income and displaced citizens. The Urban League sets policies and directions implemented by a highly trained professional staff and a network of hardworking concerned volunteers who work on problems and pursue opportunities in the fields of economic development, employment, education, youth incentives, housing, community planning, health and welfare for all people. Our Mission Quad County Urban League is dedicated to advocating and empowering the community by establishing programs that facilitate the social and economic growth for all people in DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will Counties in the state of Illinois. Our Vision Quad County Urban League strives to be the area's leading social service organization serving our community to ensure disadvantaged people an equitable opportunity with education and employment. Our Strategy Through educational, community and socially direct services and advocacy, the Urban League strives to: 1. Ensure that our youth are well-educated and equipped for economic self-reliance as they enter adulthood 2. Help adults sustain economic self-sufficiency through employment, home ownership, entrepreneurship and wealth accumulation 3. Ensure civil rights for all people by eradicating barriers to equal participation in the economic and social mainstream of our nation. Show less
