■ Introduction • Development of biomaterials for biomedical applications. • Trained to be independent in critical thinking, planning and execution of experimental work. • Main project is titled “Preparation of Porous Scaffold with Controlled Pore Structure for Tissue Engineering” and obtained valuable experience in the fields of biomaterials and tissue engineering. ■ Research Skills Acquired a wide range of techniques and skills: • Knowledge of Textile… Show more ■ Introduction • Development of biomaterials for biomedical applications. • Trained to be independent in critical thinking, planning and execution of experimental work. • Main project is titled “Preparation of Porous Scaffold with Controlled Pore Structure for Tissue Engineering” and obtained valuable experience in the fields of biomaterials and tissue engineering. ■ Research Skills Acquired a wide range of techniques and skills: • Knowledge of Textile engineering: an interdisciplinary academic field was incorporated with various fields of study, such as chemistry, physics, and biology. • Preparation of porous scaffolds with macro/nano-structure for tissue engineering; • Materials characterization: mechanical test, XRD, FTIR, preparation and measurement of samples for energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). • Cell isolation and culture techniques of Bovine articular chondrocytes, Human mesenchymal stem cells, Normal human dermal fibroblasts, endothelial cell, iPS-cardiomyocyte, iPS-endothelial cell, etc. • Animal research skills: animal feeding, surgical procedures (such as subcutaneously implantation, suture, implants harvest from animal). • Histological section and staining (such as HE staining, Safranin O/Light green staining, Toluidin Blue staining), immunohistochemistry staining, Blyscan Sulfated Glycosaminoglycan Assay, DNA quantitative analysis, RNA extraction from cells and real-time RT-PCR. • Microscopy techniques: scanning electron microscopy (SEM), florescent microscopy. ■ IT Skills • Proficient in Graphpad Prism statistical software and Image J • Well-trained in the application of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator • Skilled to apply Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) ■ Mentorship Experience Personally mentored the junior students (6 persons) during the course of my candidature.
