I met Zhang Qianwei while she worked briefly at the AP Beijing bureau. She was then a student majoring in journalism. While she worked part time with the AP, Qianwei graduated and was accepted by the prestigious Georgetown University, to pursue a graduate degree in public relations. During the time she worked at the AP, Qianwei impressed me by her communications skills, her determination, dedication, and her resourcefulness. She was always up to date with international news, and had a good understanding of local politics.
