My research focused on improving peach fertilization and production by studying the effect of ripening seasons and tree age on peach tree nutrient requirements, using Isotope to monitor the mineral nutrient movement in peach trees and using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS)to quantify the nutrient uptake by peach trees. Two other supplemental projects included screening freeze tolerant peach varieties for breeding lines and developing unique organic peach production method. I work closely with pomologist, Dr. Juan Carlos Melgar; Plant biologist, Dr. Douglas Bielenberg; Turfgrass and Soil Scientist, Dr. Haibo Liu, and Statistician, Dr. William Bridges. Show less
