Programme Manager - Amplify I Mobilise I Change: Online Communication Tools for NGOs
-
Apr 2023 - Present
At Amplify I Mobilise I Change, I play a multifaceted role, combining project management, creative content production, strategic direction, mentoring, and teaching. Our mission is to equip civil sector communication practitioners with essential digital communication skills, empowering them to advance their strategic and practical capabilities. My journey involves creating engaging learning experiences, ensuring an excellent user experience on the Moodle app, and co-creating technical learning series. Through group presentations and teaching sessions, I mentor participants, supporting them in campaign projects for maximum impact while encouraging and nudging them throughout the duration of the programme. As a strategic communicator, I collaborate with the Project Lead to manage timelines, craft public-facing communications, and analyse data to assess programme impact. Through research, we stay ahead of the latest communication trends, exploring technology's role in the nonprofit sector. With a deep understanding of social media dynamics, I curate compelling content on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, fostering meaningful connections with our audience. Social media has become an indispensable tool for amplifying voices and driving social change. I excel in project management, contributing to strategic planning, and delivering annual project outcomes. My commitment to mentorship shines through monthly strategy meetings and guiding participants through their learning journey. I'm thrilled to connect with professionals, organisations, and change-makers passionate about driving social change. Whether you're seeking to elevate your organisation's digital impact or collaborate on innovative projects, let's embark on this transformative journey together. Show less

Communications and Stakeholder Manager
-
Jun 2018 - Mar 2023
As the Communications and Stakeholder Manager at Shine Literacy, I embraced the profound responsibility of weaving on the ground stories and all our literacy work to our various audiences while co-creating and driving the organisation's fundraising strategy. This role empowered me to amplify the organisation's mission and connect with key audiences, creating a web of support that strengthened our impact on the educational landscape of South Africa. It also gave me the opportunity to grow my interpersonal, collaboration and leadership skills as I managed multiple stakeholder relationships, particularly donors. Drawing upon my background in strategic media and coverage, I diligently tracked and analysed media trends, understanding the ever-evolving landscape to maximize the reach and relevance of our communications efforts driving a regional and community media strategy. I collaborated closely with media outlets to spotlight the incredible stories of impact that emerge from our literacy programmes. My proudest achievements included a total revamp of the website, expanding the organisations digital footprint by developing and implementing a digital communication strategy. This also enabled me to implement an online fundraising strategy substantially growing the organisations individual donor pool. In 2020, at the back of all the digital transformation we applied for a grant to develop a data-free mobi-site to expand our reach to many more children in South Africa providing online books in South African indigenous languages. My role as Communications and Stakeholder Manager was deeply enriched by continuous learning, as I immersed myself in fundraising, relationship management and emerging digital communication and fundraising trends. This dedication to personal growth allowed me to remain at the forefront of innovative communication and fundraising approaches, driving meaningful conversations that inspired action, collaboration and partnership.
