  Shule Foundation is an educational non-profit organization that works to expand equal educational opportunities to children living across Uganda. This foundation has a curriculum that will allow a child to be equipped with knowledge, skills, ethical knowledge and understanding; the qualities that will allow the child to grow and become a future leader. For this internship, I helped create a volunteer program that focused on college student volunteers. I was given the opportunity to create a presentation that informed students about the Shule project that why would be volunteering for, which is the Watoto Mtaani project. I promoted the importance of outreach and interaction with children who live and beg on the streets in Uganda, and how volunteering will be saving a child's life from abuse that they are facing while living on the street. * Provided an informative presentation about volunteering for the Shule Foundation * Created a volunteer interest form which would be filled out by potential volunteers * Addressed other ways to support the children other than volunteering in Uganda Show less
