Zihua (Oliver) Wang
Promise Ahante is not only my classmate and colleague but a very best friend. The first day I came to Imperial College London, it was Promise who help me adapt to the academic career and life aboard as an International student. He is an enthusiastic person who would like to share anything with you. Also, he is an easy-going person and a good listener. I am willing to share all my stories with him. It is a great honor of mine to work with Mr. Promise in the SPE Imperial College Student Chapter. A good leader is the one who has great management skills, high emotional intelligence, great passion for the work, and more importantly, who cares about every member of the team. That is President Promise. Besides, Promise possesses acute business awareness to bring important sponsorship from our collaborative events to support the running of our chapter. Working in the same group in the Wytch Farm project made me discover another Promise. He is not only a great leader but an energetic and knowledgeable master student. In our project, He is a real engineering student who can make use of the knowledge learned from the class to solve real-world problems. If I have a chance, I will still choose him as my teammate. With the qualities and achievements that I describe above about Promise, I recommend him to any company and organization that are going to hire him in the future.

Mr. Promise, jovial, tolerant, hard working and deligent, a personality that always wants the best not only to himself but to others as well, that which I attested to during the wytch farm project. Under his stewardship, the Imperial College SPE recieved the 2020 Presidential Award for an Outstanding Student Chapter, and this is as a result of his teams' immense contribution to the Society and humanity as a whole. Carbon Capture and Storage Research Student (Imperial College - A/S Norske Shell)

• Completed my Master’s research with Imperial College and A/S Norske Shell on the 1.5 MtCO₂/Year Northern Lights Carbon Capture and Storage project being developed by Equinor, Shell, Total and the Norwegian government.• Developed numerical simulation models to evaluate the effect of relatively high permeability layers ("thief zones") in the Johansen CO₂ storage formation. Results generated are qualitatively applicable to other North Sea storage aquifers.• Investigated the sensitivity analysis of key parameters on the migration of CO₂ into the potential thief zones in terms of amount and plume distance reached.• Created data visualisation plots for relative CO₂ plume migration in the Johansen formation using collected and developed data to provide insights for the Northern Lights team.• Carried out an analytical study of the detectability and monitorability of CO₂ plume in layers of limited thickness which may not be visible on 4D seismic.

Petroleum Engineer (Wytch Farm Field Development Project)

• Developed porosity-permeability correlations to populate the undrilled areas of the reservoir and developed J-functions to estimate water saturation.• Integrated data from dean stark, RFT and wireline to estimate the Wytch Farm reservoir oil-water-contact (OWC) & free-water-level (FWL).• Used PIE and SAPHIR software to carry out pressure transient analysis (PTA) & Well Testing analysis for two wells to estimate the reservoir permeability, skin, connected volume and the presence of boundaries and heterogeneities.• Used Petrel to upscale the static model created by the team’s geoscientists, developed the dynamic model and the P10, P50 & P90 field development strategies for their respective estimated reserves.• Supported modelling the process flow and equipment selection for the produced fluids using HYSYS. The final designed process comprised an oil treatment facility, natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) treatment facility and produced water treatment facility.• Developed a fluids transportation route using google earth, waste management & decommissioning plan following UK North Sea standards, risk & safety assessment and HAZOP sheet for the field project.• Executed the economic modelling of the field using Que$tor for the P10, P50 & P90 cases.
