Zake is a knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, cheerful and collaborative colleague. I truly enjoyed the time working with him, as the time together was fun, interesting and positive. Tasks done, or events/requests delivered, were the mostly commonly outcomes together with him. He has a lot of ideas and insightful opinions which can really cheer you up and give you motivation. He's experienced in teaching and willing to help colleagues in need. He's a truly exceptional academic who has a great passion for life. I hope that we can collaborate and work together for a long time.

Amongst other duties, I was engaged in the development of teacher training materials, and training in-service and pre-service teachers, in both the science education and Information & Communications Technology (ICT) use in education. I lectured some courses on education and science education at Rhodes and Natal universities as a CASME staff member. The ICT work has included:  Preparing materials for online learning (e.g., The Shoma project);  Evaluating computer-based educational materials (e.g., 'Power Science’); and  At schools, advising teachers on installing computers in computer laboratories, using computers for teaching, and selecting computer educational programmes (e.g., Dinaledi project). I was also involved in editing and advising other members of the academic staff in the development of materials. I published extensively in CASME's internal and external publications, both in print and online, in his fields of specialisation which includes ICT in education. I also served in an editorial capacity with respect to several publications. I also wrote and delivered conference papers on behalf of CASME. Show less
