At Pelltech we specialise in the development, manufacturing and sales of pellet burners and boilers. I co-founded the company in 2006 with my good friend and current NED / Advisor Aavo Isak. Since then Pelltech has grown to become the largest and most trusted firm of the sector in the Baltic countries. We believe in innovation and doing things differently. The key business domains are pellet burning equipment and renewable energy. Our headquarters including the assembly line, engineering department and staff of 25 employees are conveniently situated near Tallinn Airport. My role as CEO and Head of Development generally divides my day into two. Firstly, as the CEO I’m responsible for leading the organisation, laying out the vision to the company and offering my leadership and direction to all the departments. This includes day to day operational work and making sure that Pelltech is moving to the right direction based on our vision, mission and goals. However, I’m still an engineer and developer in heart and spend a lot of time with our engineers’ planning and developing new products. I firmly believe in innovation and building new products and prototypes that are revolutionary to the industry. Being honest here, this usually gets me the most excited. Pelltech wants to be the largest manufacturer of pellet burning equipment in Northern Europe and well known throughout Europe by 2024. This we are looking to achieve by focusing on teamwork and innovation in the sector. Our daily values are taking care of our customers with environmentally friendly, comfortable and modern solutions for heat production with pellets. We also wholeheartedly promote the use of renewable energy. Show less

      • 1999 - 2007

I’ve always cared more to be working on innovation, strategy and building systems than managing people doing that. And I see my the time in SEB the time when I consciously realised that. Therefore, in a funny way, even when though I spent years on rising in the corporate structure and having a lot of success in the banking ecosystem, this was the time when I decided to get back hands-on with developing systems. SEB is a leading northern European financial services group, with a history dating back to 1856. SEB believes in innovation, entrepreneurship and an international perspective as their DNA. They do this through long-term relationships, personal advice and digital services – and by supporting the customers in the transition to a more sustainable world.Within the 10 years at SEB I had several roles. Most of the time I worked as Software Engineer but in the later years, when I learnt to know the business and IT industry really well I worked as a System Architect & Integrator. My biggest win at SEB was leading a team of 8 people and building their custom made CRM from scratch. This was quite a challenge knowing the complexness of it and seeing to how many different departments and systems it had to be integrated. But I’ve always loved a challenge! Show less

    • Senior IT Manager
      • 1996 - 1998

Then my career in the banking world continued when I joined Maapank as Senior IT Manager. My role at Maapank was running the IT department and ensuring that the internal communication systems across the whole organisation were running smoothly. The time in Maapank also gave me my first bigger experience of managing people as I had around 20 people reporting to me. Having direct reports and leading this big of a group of people taught me the delegation and that you can go quick alone but you can get further when working as a team. Within these years at Maapank I believe my biggest achievement or project was improving and adding to the banks’ communication systems. I’ve always believed in creating custom solutions & not implementing basic ready-made products. Show less

After University my first experience in the working world was joining Hoiupank (Swedbank) as their System Administrator. I worked there in several positions ending up as IT Developer & Programmer.Eesti Hoiupank (Estonian for Estonian Savings Bank) was an Estonian bank that operated from 1992 to 1998. Hoiupank merged into Hansapank that is currently Swedbank's Estonian subsidiary. My key task as a system administrator was to keep the information systems operating. It was a great experience as the role required working together with different departments. Throughout the 90’ the IT sector was very exciting as the sector was going through rapid growth and it was exciting keeping up with it. Show less
