PhD thesis: "Multivariate responses, dependence structures and partial observations" This PhD program is part of Innovative Training Network EPOC (Economic Policy In Complex Environments). It is funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement. It is a double degree program between the Kobenhavns Universitet (UCPH) and the Universität Bielefeld (UNIBI). PhD supervisors are Prof. S. Ditlevsen (UCPH) and Prof. R. Langrock (UNIBI). Master of Science Project on Coupled Audio-visual Multi-speaker Tracking Perception Team The research focuses on training an algorithm that can track people in the room using both audio and visual observations in the Bayesian framework with Probabilistic Graphical Models. Most audio-visual tracking methods first map all auditory and visual information in the same space to run on a tracking algorithm later. However, in most cases the auditory and visual observations are very different, so they would require different latent space models that are obviously linked to each other. We investigate the possibility of performing multi-speaker tracking with coupled natural latent spaces, rather than one single artificial latent space. Show less
