It has given me an opportunity to learn about leadership from the best at Oxford and beyond, and has prepared me to take up leadership roles in the future! In my capacity as the leader of the Equal Opportunity Cell of Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, I learnt how to be an inclusive and empathetic leader.Worked with my team in order to make Lady Shri Ram College for Women and Delhi University inclusive and accessible for students with disabilities and those coming from other marginalized communities.Provided students with disabilities with a friendly and accepting environment through the ‘Buddy System’ wherein every student with a disability is assigned a buddy who is a volunteer for the EOC and is supposed to extend support to her assigned disabled peer in navigating through college activities if need be.Organized mobility training worships for students with disabilities in order to help them navigate through the college and outside, easily.Organized various panel discussions, talk sessions, activities and workshops with an aim to raise awareness regarding disability rights amongst the student body at Delhi University. These include talks by leading disability rights activists like Dr. Satendra Singh (Henry Viscardi Award winner), Padma Shri J.L. Kaul, founder of Nipman Foundation Mr. Nipun Malhotra amongst others.Organized the annual inclusive fest of LSR, ‘Parwaaz' that brought together hundreds of disabled students from across Delhi University who showcased their talents like singing, dancing, creative writing etc. The idea was to make the participants focus on the ‘ability’ in their ‘disability’.Success- LSR is now almost barrier free for students with visual or locomotive impairment
