Pratima showed an avid interest throughout her internship at Mossery for learning, understanding and implementing new aspects in the Human & Culture department. Her effort in compiling employee’s feedback for company culture development and improvisation of internship orientation were highly recognized. In addition to her bright personality and easy going manner, I was impressed with Pratima’s ability to work independently, always have a positive mindset and amazing people skills. Pratima made sure that everyone had fun during the birthday and townhall gathering with her game hosting talent ! I’m sure she'll be an asset to the next organization she chooses to join.

    • Myanmar Mentor Program
      • May 2019 - Aug 2019

In SSV, we've been doing Myanmar Refugee Tuition Project since about 2013. It was one of the reason I joined the team. One thing we realized through volunteers feedback was that we could not track the progress of the student directly unless we asked from the centre coordinator. So, we decided to form a committee who will be in charge of a class and design the course sheet based on the students.I joined batch 2 as the tutor to 5 warm-hearted children.1. Prepared weekly course sheets and tutored the children accordingly2. Lead and guide the volunteers for the class to teach the children3. Discussed and provided feedbacks to centre coordinator and committee to improve the student learning

The power of a great listening and empathy is larger than we think it to be. I realized it more and more during my term as peer counsellor. We were a small group selected to be trained every week by the counsellor at Sunway Education. All that commitment was for one motive: to ensure that students at Sunway has peer counsellors to discuss their concerns with. Throughout the year, we have had cases ranging from career, relationships to self-esteem. It was enriching to know that all those times spent were fruitful in helping someone, even if it was for the tiniest bit. Some of the roles I played were:1. Drafted and edited the email replies for concerns sent online.2. Provided face-to-face counselling to clients upon request, number of cases varied.3. We conduct trainings, workshops and events to empower students, in the hope that we are able to reduce the stigma, one step at a time.I wanted to join this club even before I started my semester at Sunway. And the experience was as warm and impactful as I had expected to be. So, I continued as committee to bring more events and inspire/ assist more individuals as I can. Some of my duties involved: 1. • I'm Only Human- Project Head
      • Apr 2018 - Sep 2018

"I'm Only Human" Like the name, we wanted to bring a strong message on the stigmas surrounding mental health and how we brush it away as a minor thing. So, we encouraged our staffs and students to acknowledge it and also provided resources to help them.Started as a small idea, it quickly rolled into Sunway University's largest mental health campaign with 700+ participants, 2 forums, 1 interactive exhibition, mental health booths and art contest. We were glad to have collaborated with Sunway Education Counselling and Wellness, Student Life, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) and Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ). Also, it would not have been the same without the generous support from Kare furniture, Khind Starfish Foundation and MMHAMy main contributions were:1. Secured sponsorship worth more than RM 50,000 for the campaign.2. Drafted the monologue for the main event- interactive exhibition3. Interviewed Y.B. Michelle Ng Mei Sze (Adun of Subang Jaya), Dr. Elizabeth Lee (CEO, Sunway Education Group), Ms. Lee Siok Ping (Director of Student LIFE), Ms. Chai Pei Ling (Head of Counselling Unit, Sunway Education Group)4. Directed communication and assisted department leads to execute the program as per the intended timeframe

Despite not being from second-year as per the initial lookout, I was trusted with this responsibility in my first semester at Sunway University. Being a beginner, I was really excited about the project and the opportunity it had brought. I was provided with the list of prospective research participants along with their emails. It was my duty to contact them and assist them in completing the research survey. It took about 30 minutes to fill the survey, including the time of the briefing and debriefing involved. Although it sounded easy, it was quite difficult to get in touch with the students, especially at the busy time of the semester. As I was involved in clubs and societies back then, I connected with the ones active in those first and requested assistance to reach out to the rest as well. It was quite a struggle to encourage the potential participants to provide their time but fortunately, most were kind enough and went extra mile to assist.
