      Prapimphan Chiengkul is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University in Thailand, Visiting Research Fellow/Associate Fellow at the Climate Change in Southeast Asia Programme at ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore, and Honorary Research Fellow at Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation, University of Warwick in the UK. Influenced by Robert W. Cox's critical theory, Prapimphan's research to date has focused on issues of inequality, social justice, environmental sustainability, progressive politics and social movements. Her first major publication was a monograph, The Political Economy of the Agri-Food System in Thailand (Routledge 2017), which was based on her PhD thesis completed at the University of Warwick. Since then, she has published research articles in journals such as Third World Quarterly and Alternatives: Global, Local, Political. She also published a short monograph, Labour Under Corbyn: Constraints on Radical Politics in the UK, with Palgrave in 2021. Prapimphan's current research focus is on the political economy of climate change and the prospects of just energy-agricultural transitions and post-growth/green economy in Southeast Asia. She has published academically-informed opinion pieces in Channel News Asia, The Bangkok Post, Bangkok Business News (Krungthep Turakij), Eco-Business, and Fulcrum.sg.
