Teens for Cancer Patients is an international youth-led organization of over 10,000 students from 15+ countries, dedicated to battling cancer by utilizing teenage passion and ability who have successfully raised over $10,000 for cancer patients and educated over 7500 individuals about cancer prevention in American, African and Asian countries. As Vice President, I helped set up fundraising and awareness chapters across the globe. Moreover, I worked to secure grants and funding, interacted with our beneficiaries Karunashraya and CCHRC, and headed a food drive for children suffering from cancer. I’ve also spearheaded several initiatives such as Teens For Health (an initiative to spread awareness about tobacco and cancer), and curating and hosting summer internships. Show less

    • Bioinformatics Researcher
      • Sep 2021 - Apr 2023

Initially joined as a research volunteer to work on bioinformatics cancer research. As I progressed with the research team, I was promoted to lead the team. We worked on exploring the gene FBXO27 and its oncogenic properties. I, specifically, looked into its protein interactions and miRNA associations. Furthermore, as the research lead, I guided all researchers on how to explore other aspects of the gene such as its expressions across tissues and its SNP associations.

As the outreach officer, I recruited volunteer, helped volunteers set up and run their own chapters, connected with other local organizations such as Rotaract Clubs to collaborate, and, secured media coverage for CCHRC to raise funds during floods in Assam.
