WXR-2100 was a project outsourced to HCL Technologies by Rockwell Collins for testing the software code developed for their onboard weather radar system. WXR-2100 deals with detection and warning of deteriorating weather conditions ahead and along the flight path.• As part of the project, my role included performing Requirements Based (manual) Testing and code review. The software code was written in embedded C, ASM and PLM languages. This helped in identifying major and minor defects in the code to comply with the stringent functional requirements by FAA.• I have performed both white box and black box tests of the code. The code was also tested using emulators (in case of code written in PLM languages) and actual hardware.• I assumed the role of Defect Prevention Analyst (DPA) from June, 2011 to May, 2012. My responsibilities included consolidating defects identified in internal peer reviews and reviews by customer (Rockwell Collins), performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to rectify and prevent the defects from occurring in subsequent deliverables. This helped me to contribute towards maintaining quality of the deliverables over 95%. The role also gave me exposure to Fishbone and 5- Why methods of root cause analyses.• During my stint with HCL Technologies, I was part of the core team of a domain specific group TechBoosters that focused on providing summarized information about various aerospace systems. I was also responsible in organizing and conducting contests and quizzes once a month on the topics covered in that month.
