• Designing the 3D model using CAD software such as Solidworks. • Creating detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD software by taking into consideration specifications such as dimensions, material, bill of material, geometric dimensioning and tolerances (ANSI/Y- 14.5) etc. • Validating the engineering drawings to make sure that they are ISO 2015 quality complaint by including all the necessary symbols and adding other information as mentioned in the ISO quality policy. • Carrying out product and process design and development verification. • Analyzing and mitigating failure modes for the product during product development phase. • Communicating with the Supplier Quality/Production Engineer in the product development phase. • Verifying and approving the modified drawings submitted by the supplier. • Inspecting the incoming product samples (after mass production) to make sure the manufactured samples are compliant with quality standard requirements. • Logging the inspection results on as a report and maintaining these reports for our supplier quality records. • Preparing Product Non-conformance reports for all the defective samples. • Studying the 8D (corrective action) report submitted by the supplier • Carrying out PPAP and proposing necessary changes in the design or production process • Performing DFMEA (failure analysis) to analyze material property, load bearing capacity and sustainability of the returned defective parts. • Working with the Engineering and Product development team and management to suggest necessary actions (like informing the manufacturer, proposing changes in design or material) to the manufacturer.
