Junior State of America Chapter President

JSA is a student-run organization that functions as a mock congress and helps students become effective civic participants. As president of my high school's chapter, it is my responsibility to plan and lead meetings (which include debates, learning about our government, and helping members cultivate important skills such as leadership, critical thinking, etc), work with other officers, and organize events, such as attending conferences. In the past year, I have organized meetings with a local state senator to help students get more involved (open forum between students and senator) and doubled our membership. Show less
