Thesis topic: Calibration of ultrasound transducers to monitor dynamic movements of the residual femur within a transfemoral socket. Responsibilities held: • Calibration and measurement error analysis of the A-mode ultrasound transducer (the ultrasonic system used is an Inoson process conditioning monitor 8 100 MHz system) in a water bath and stump model • Analysis of the real-time signals obtained from the ultrasound transducer in MATLAB • Validation of ultrasound values with values obtained from qualisys motion capture system • Extension of the method to find the position of the femur in a normal healthy human subject and validation of the values obtained by comparing it with MRI data Show less
